Hussite Movement
The Hussite Movement was a religious reform movement in the early 15th century in what is now the Czech Republic. It emerged from the teachings of Jan Hus, a priest and philosopher who criticized the Catholic Church's practices, advocating for reforms such as the use of the Czech language in services and communion for the laity.
The movement gained significant support among the Czech population, leading to a series of conflicts known as the Hussite Wars (1419-1434). The Hussites sought to establish a more accessible and moral form of Christianity, ultimately influencing the later Protestant Reformation.
