Hunting Island Lighthouse
The Hunting Island Lighthouse is located on Hunting Island, South Carolina. Built in 1859, it stands at 130 feet tall and is one of the few lighthouses in the state that is open to the public. The lighthouse features a distinctive black and white spiral pattern, making it a recognizable landmark along the coast.
Visitors can climb the 167 steps to the top for stunning views of the surrounding Hunting Island State Park and the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1933 but remains a popular attraction, showcasing the area's maritime history and natural beauty.
