Hunter-Gatherer
A "Hunter-Gatherer" is a member of a society that relies on hunting animals and gathering wild plants for food. These groups typically move frequently to follow animal migrations and seasonal plant growth, living in small, mobile communities. They do not practice agriculture or domesticate animals, which distinguishes them from settled farming societies.
Hunter-gatherers use tools made from stone, wood, and bone to aid in their activities. Their lifestyle is often characterized by a deep knowledge of their environment, including the behavior of animals and the properties of plants. Examples of modern hunter-gatherer societies include the San people of southern Africa and the Inuit of the Arctic.
