Hungarian Mythology
Hungarian mythology is a rich tapestry of folklore, legends, and beliefs that reflect the history and culture of the Hungarian people. It includes a variety of mythical creatures, such as tündér (fairies) and sárkány (dragons), as well as gods and goddesses from ancient times. These stories often explain natural phenomena, human emotions, and the origins of the world.
Central to Hungarian mythology are the Turul, a mythical bird symbolizing power and strength, and the Nimród, a legendary hunter and leader. Many tales also feature the Koppány and István legends, which illustrate the struggle for power and the establishment of the Hungarian state.
