Hungarian Counties
Hungary is divided into 19 counties, known as megyék in Hungarian. Each county serves as an administrative region, with its own local government and responsibilities. The capital city, Budapest, is a separate entity and is not part of any county.
The counties vary in size and population, with Pest County being the largest by population. Each county has its own unique cultural and historical significance, contributing to Hungary's rich heritage. Notable counties include Somogy, known for its natural beauty, and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, famous for its mountainous landscapes.
