Human Digestive System
The human digestive system is a complex network that processes food to extract nutrients and eliminate waste. It begins in the mouth, where food is chewed and mixed with saliva, then travels down the esophagus to the stomach. Here, acids and enzymes break down food further.
After the stomach, the partially digested food moves into the small intestine, where most nutrient absorption occurs. The pancreas and liver aid digestion by producing enzymes and bile. Finally, waste products pass into the large intestine for water absorption before being excreted from the body.
