Huayan
Huayan is a significant school of Chinese Buddhism that emerged during the Tang dynasty. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all phenomena, illustrating how everything in the universe is interrelated and interdependent. This philosophy is often expressed through the metaphor of a jewel net, where each jewel reflects all others, symbolizing the unity of existence.
The core text of Huayan Buddhism is the Avatamsaka Sutra, which presents complex ideas about reality and enlightenment. Practitioners of Huayan engage in deep meditation and study to understand these concepts, aiming to achieve a profound realization of the nature of reality and the self.
