Howard Government
The Howard Government refers to the administration led by Prime Minister John Howard in Australia from 1996 to 2007. It was a coalition government formed by the Liberal Party and the National Party. Howard's government focused on economic reforms, tax cuts, and reducing government spending, which contributed to a period of strong economic growth.
During its time in office, the Howard Government implemented significant policies, including the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in 2000 and reforms in industrial relations. The government also played a key role in Australia's foreign policy, particularly in relation to the United States and the War on Terror following the events of September 11, 2001.
