House_of_Lords
The House of Lords is one of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, the other being the House of Commons. It plays a crucial role in reviewing and revising legislation proposed by the House of Commons. Members of the House of Lords, known as Lords, are not elected; they are appointed, inherit their position, or hold ecclesiastical roles.
The House of Lords consists of three main types of members: Life Peers, who are appointed for their lifetime; Bishops, who represent the Church of England; and Hereditary Peers, who inherit their titles. The House of Lords also has the power to suggest amendments and delay legislation, but it cannot ultimately block laws passed by the House of Commons.
