Hou Yi
Hou Yi is a legendary archer in Chinese mythology, known for his exceptional skills and bravery. He is most famous for shooting down nine of the ten suns that once scorched the Earth, leaving only one sun to provide light and warmth. This heroic act saved humanity from suffering and restored balance to nature.
In addition to his archery feats, Hou Yi is often associated with the Moon Goddess Chang'e. According to legend, he received an elixir of immortality but chose not to consume it, instead giving it to Chang'e. After her unexpected ascent to the moon, Hou Yi would often gaze at the moon, longing for her presence.
