Horseshoe Pitching
Horseshoe pitching is a traditional outdoor game where players throw horseshoes at a stake in the ground. The objective is to encircle the stake or land the horseshoe close to it, scoring points based on accuracy. Each player takes turns throwing two horseshoes per round, and the game can be played individually or in teams.
The game is typically played on a rectangular court, with the stakes placed 40 feet apart for men and 30 feet for women and children. Horseshoes are made of metal and have a U-shape, which helps them land around the stake. Scoring can vary, but a ringer, where the horseshoe encircles the stake, usually earns the most points.
