Horned Frog
The horned frog, also known as the horned toad, is a unique species found primarily in the southwestern United States and parts of Mexico. These frogs are easily recognizable due to their flattened bodies and prominent horn-like projections on their heads. They typically inhabit arid and semi-arid environments, where they rely on camouflage to avoid predators.
Horned frogs are primarily insectivorous, feeding on ants, beetles, and other small invertebrates. They have a distinctive defense mechanism: when threatened, they can puff up their bodies to appear larger and more intimidating. This adaptation helps them survive in their harsh habitats.
