Hornbill
Hornbills are large, colorful birds known for their distinctive long bills, which can be curved or flattened. They belong to the family Bucerotidae and are found primarily in tropical and subtropical forests across Africa, Asia, and Melanesia. There are about 60 species of hornbills, and they play a vital role in their ecosystems by dispersing seeds.
These birds are unique for their nesting behavior. Female hornbills seal themselves inside tree cavities during breeding, leaving only a small opening for the male to feed them. This protective strategy helps safeguard their young from predators while they grow and develop.
