Hormuz
Hormuz is a strategically important strait located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It connects the oil-rich regions of the Middle East to global shipping routes, making it one of the world's busiest maritime passages. Approximately 20% of the world's oil trade passes through this narrow waterway, highlighting its significance in international trade and energy security.
The strait is bordered by Iran to the north and Oman to the south. It is about 21 miles wide at its narrowest point. The region has been a focal point for geopolitical tensions, with various nations monitoring activities in and around the strait to ensure safe passage for commercial vessels.
