Honey Harvesting
Honey harvesting is the process of collecting honey from beehives. Beekeepers carefully inspect the hives, usually made of wooden boxes, to determine when the honey is ready. This typically occurs in late summer or early fall when the honeycomb cells are capped with wax, indicating that the honey is ripe.
To harvest the honey, beekeepers use tools like a smoker to calm the bees and a hive tool to remove the frames filled with honey. The honey is then extracted using a centrifuge or by crushing the comb, and it is filtered and bottled for sale or personal use.
