The Honduran League, officially known as Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, is the top professional football league in Honduras. Established in 1965, it features 10 teams competing in a round-robin format, where each team plays the others twice, once at home and once away. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the lower division, known as Liga de Ascenso. The season is divided into two tournaments: the Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament culminates in playoffs, leading to a final match to determine the champion.
