Hoklo
Hoklo, also known as Hokkien, is a Chinese dialect primarily spoken by the Hokkien people in southern Fujian province and by many overseas Chinese communities in Southeast Asia. It is part of the Min language group and has various regional variations, with Taiwanese being one of the most recognized forms.
The Hoklo culture is rich and includes unique traditions, cuisine, and festivals. Many Hoklo speakers celebrate the Mazu festival, honoring the sea goddess, and enjoy dishes like Hokkien mee and oyster omelette. The dialect plays a significant role in the identity of its speakers.
