Hiroo Onoda
Hiroo Onoda was a Japanese soldier who became famous for his role in World War II. He was born on March 19, 1922, and was deployed to the Philippines in 1944. Onoda was ordered to conduct guerrilla warfare and to continue fighting even after Japan's surrender in 1945.
