Hideyoshi
Hideyoshi was a prominent Japanese military leader and politician during the late 16th century. Born in 1537, he rose from humble beginnings as a peasant to become one of Japan's most powerful figures. He played a crucial role in unifying Japan after a long period of civil war known as the Sengoku period.
As the second great unifier of Japan, following Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi implemented significant reforms, including land surveys and tax systems. He is also known for his attempts to invade Korea in the late 1590s. Hideyoshi's legacy includes the establishment of a centralized government and the promotion of culture, including the tea ceremony.
