Over the years, Heublein expanded its product line to include popular brands such as Smirnoff vodka and A1 Steak Sauce. In 1982, Heublein was acquired by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, which later sold the company to Diageo in 1997. The acquisition allowed Heublein to further enhance its portfolio and reach a broader market.
