Heritage Months
Heritage Months are designated periods throughout the year that celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of specific groups within society. These months aim to raise awareness and promote understanding of the diverse backgrounds that make up a community. For example, Black History Month in February honors the achievements of African Americans, while Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 recognizes the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
Each Heritage Month often includes various events, educational programs, and activities that highlight the significance of the featured culture. Schools, organizations, and communities participate by hosting discussions, art exhibits, and performances that reflect the traditions and values of the group being celebrated.
