Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland
Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland (1341–1408), was a prominent English nobleman during the late 14th and early 15th centuries. He was a member of the Percy family, a powerful lineage in northern England, and played a significant role in the political landscape of the time. Henry was known for his military leadership and loyalty to the English crown, participating in various campaigns, including the Hundred Years' War.
In 1397, he was granted the title of Earl of Northumberland, solidifying his status among the English nobility. However, his fortunes changed when he became embroiled in conflicts with the Lancastrian faction, leading to his eventual rebellion against King Henry IV. Despite his initial successes, Henry Percy faced defeat and was ultimately killed in battle, marking the end of his influential life.
