Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey
Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey (1768-1854), was a British nobleman and military leader known for his role in the Peninsular War. He served as a cavalry commander and was recognized for his bravery at the Battle of Waterloo, where he played a crucial part in the defeat of Napoleon's forces.
In addition to his military career, Paget was also involved in politics, serving as a Member of Parliament. He inherited the title of Marquess in 1815 and was known for his extravagant lifestyle, which included a passion for horses and racing, reflecting the social norms of the British aristocracy during his time.
