Henry, 1st Earl of Lancaster
Henry, 1st Earl of Lancaster (c. 1281–1345) was a prominent English nobleman during the medieval period. He was the son of Henry of Lancaster and Maud Chaworth, and he played a significant role in the politics of his time. Henry was a loyal supporter of King Edward II and later Edward III, participating in various military campaigns and serving in important administrative roles.
In 1327, Henry was created the 1st Earl of Lancaster, solidifying his status among the English nobility. He was known for his extensive landholdings and influence in the north of England. His legacy continued through his descendants, who remained significant figures in English history.
