Hems
A hem is the finished edge of a piece of fabric, typically found on clothing, curtains, and other textile items. It is created by folding the raw edge of the fabric inward and sewing it down to prevent fraying. Hems can vary in width and style, including straight, curved, or decorative finishes.
Different types of hems serve various purposes. For example, a blind hem is nearly invisible from the front of the garment, while a rolled hem is often used on lightweight fabrics for a delicate finish. Proper hemming techniques enhance the overall appearance and durability of the item.
