Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg
Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg, born in 1797 in Germany, was a skilled piano maker and the founder of the renowned Steinway & Sons piano company. He began his career crafting pianos in his workshop in Seesen, where he developed innovative techniques that improved the quality of instruments.
In 1850, Steinweg emigrated to the United States, where he changed his name to Henry Steinway. He established his new factory in New York City, producing pianos that quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional sound and craftsmanship. Today, Steinway pianos are considered some of the finest in the world.
