Heidelberg Project
The Heidelberg Project is an outdoor community art installation located in the Heidelberg Street neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1986 by artist Tyree Guyton, the project transforms abandoned houses and lots into vibrant works of art, using discarded materials and everyday objects. Its goal is to revitalize the area and engage the community through creativity.
The project features colorful murals, sculptures, and installations that reflect the history and culture of the neighborhood. It has gained international recognition for its innovative approach to urban renewal and has become a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of economic challenges.
