Harriet Quimby
Harriet Quimby was an American aviator and screenwriter, born on May 11, 1875, in Michigan. She became the first woman in the United States to earn a pilot's license in 1911, paving the way for future female aviators. Quimby was known for her daring flights and was a prominent figure in the early days of aviation.
In addition to her aviation career, Quimby was also a successful writer and worked as a screenwriter for the motion picture industry. Tragically, her life was cut short when she died in a plane crash on July 1, 1912, but her legacy continues to inspire women in aviation today.
