Harkness Ballet

It was known for its innovative choreography and commitment to nurturing new talent in the dance community. The company gained recognition for its diverse repertoire, which included both classical and contemporary works.
In 1980, the Harkness Ballet merged with the American Ballet Theatre, leading to its eventual dissolution. Despite its relatively short existence, the Harkness Ballet played a significant role in the evolution of American ballet and contributed to the careers of many dancers and choreographers.
