Hard Law
"Hard Law" refers to legally binding rules and regulations that are enforceable in a court of law. These laws are typically established by formal legislative processes and include statutes, treaties, and regulations. Violating hard law can result in penalties, fines, or other legal consequences.
In contrast to "Soft Law," which consists of guidelines and recommendations that lack binding authority, hard law provides clear obligations for individuals and organizations. Examples of hard law include international treaties like the United Nations Charter and national laws enacted by legislative bodies such as Congress or Parliament.
