Hanetsuki
Hanetsuki is a traditional Japanese game similar to badminton, played without a net. It involves two players using wooden paddles called hagoita to hit a shuttlecock, known as hane. The objective is to keep the shuttlecock in the air as long as possible while trying to score points by hitting it past the opponent.
Typically played during the New Year celebrations, Hanetsuki is often accompanied by a festive atmosphere. The paddles are often beautifully decorated, and the game is not only a test of skill but also a way to wish for good health and fortune in the coming year.
