Handcar
A handcar, also known as a pump trolley, is a small railway vehicle powered by human effort. Typically made of wood or metal, it features a flat platform with wheels that run on railway tracks. Operators use a hand pump to move the car forward or backward, making it useful for maintenance work on railways.
Handcars were commonly used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for transporting workers and equipment. While they have largely been replaced by motorized vehicles, handcars are still used in some areas for recreational purposes and are popular in railroad museums and heritage railways.
