Half Dime
The "Half Dime" was a silver coin in the United States, valued at five cents. It was first minted in 1792 and continued to be produced until 1873. The coin was made of 90% silver and 10% copper, making it a popular choice for everyday transactions during its circulation.
Originally, the Half Dime featured various designs, including the famous Seated Liberty and Barber designs. As the economy evolved and the demand for smaller denominations changed, the Half Dime was eventually replaced by the nickel, which became the standard five-cent coin.
