Hadith Classification
Hadith classification is the process of categorizing the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad to determine their authenticity and reliability. Scholars use various criteria, such as the chain of narrators (isnad) and the content (matn), to assess whether a hadith is considered sahih (authentic), hasan (good), or da'if (weak).
This classification helps Muslims understand which hadith can be trusted for guidance in religious practices and beliefs. The most recognized collections of hadith, such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, contain primarily authentic narrations, serving as essential references for Islamic teachings.
