Habermasian Theory
The Habermasian Theory, developed by German philosopher Jürgen Habermas, focuses on the importance of communication in society. It emphasizes the role of rational discourse in achieving mutual understanding and consensus among individuals. Habermas argues that through open dialogue, people can overcome misunderstandings and reach agreements that reflect the collective will.
Central to this theory is the concept of the public sphere, where individuals engage in discussions free from coercion. Habermas believes that a healthy public sphere is essential for democracy, as it allows citizens to participate in decision-making processes and hold authorities accountable through informed debate.
