HRT
Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT, is a medical treatment used to relieve symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances, particularly during menopause in women. It involves the administration of hormones, such as estrogen and progesterone, to restore hormone levels to alleviate symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.
In addition to menopause, HRT can also be used for transgender individuals undergoing gender transition, helping to align their physical characteristics with their gender identity. This therapy can include the use of testosterone for transgender men and estrogen for transgender women, promoting the development of secondary sexual characteristics.
