HOV Lane
An HOV lane, or High-Occupancy Vehicle lane, is a designated traffic lane reserved for vehicles with multiple passengers, typically two or more. These lanes aim to reduce traffic congestion and encourage carpooling, making travel more efficient for those sharing rides. HOV lanes are often marked with specific signs and may operate during peak travel times.
In many cities, HOV lanes can also be used by buses and motorcycles, depending on local regulations. Some regions implement HOV lane restrictions only during certain hours, while others maintain them throughout the day. Violating these rules can result in fines.
