HMS Newcastle
HMS Newcastle was a British light cruiser of the Royal Navy, launched in 1936. She served during World War II, participating in various naval operations, including the Battle of the Atlantic and the invasion of Normandy. The ship was known for her speed and agility, making her an effective vessel for reconnaissance and escort duties.
After the war, HMS Newcastle underwent modernization and continued to serve until her decommissioning in 1978. She was the last of the Town-class cruisers and is notable for her role in post-war naval operations. The ship was eventually sold for scrap in 1980.
