HM Fort Nore
HM Fort Nore is a coastal defense fortification located at the mouth of the River Medway in Kent, England. Built in the mid-19th century, it was designed to protect the naval dockyards at Chatham and Sheerness from potential attacks. The fort features a distinctive circular design and was equipped with heavy artillery to defend against naval threats.
The fort was part of a larger network of defenses along the Thames Estuary and played a role in British military history. Although it is no longer in active use, HM Fort Nore remains a significant historical site, reflecting the strategic importance of the area during its operational years.
