György Festetics was a prominent Hungarian nobleman and politician born in 1755. He is best known for founding the Georgikon Agricultural College in 1797, which was one of the first agricultural schools in Europe. His efforts significantly advanced agricultural education and practices in Hungary. Festetics was also a key figure in the development of the Keszthely region, where he built the Festetics Palace. This grand estate became a center for cultural and social activities, reflecting his commitment to improving the lives of his fellow citizens.
