Gwen John
Gwen John was a Welsh painter born on June 22, 1876, in Cardiff. She is best known for her intimate portraits and still-life paintings, often featuring a muted color palette. John studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London and later became associated with the London Group of artists.
Throughout her career, John focused on the inner lives of her subjects, particularly women. She spent much of her life in Paris, where she was influenced by the Post-Impressionist movement. Gwen John passed away on September 18, 1939, leaving behind a significant legacy in modern art.
