Guy de Brès
Guy de Brès was a notable figure in the 16th century, primarily recognized for his role in the Protestant Reformation in the Low Countries. Born around 1520, he became a prominent leader of the Anabaptist movement and was instrumental in spreading Reformed Christian beliefs in a time of religious turmoil.
De Brès is best known for writing the Belgic Confession in 1561, a key document that outlined the beliefs of the Reformed faith. This confession played a significant role in uniting Protestant communities and establishing a foundation for Reformed churches in what is now Belgium and the Netherlands.
