Gustav Stickley
Gustav Stickley was an American furniture designer and manufacturer, born in 1858. He is best known for his role in the Arts and Crafts Movement, which emphasized handcrafted quality and simple, functional design. Stickley's work often featured sturdy, oak furniture with clean lines and minimal ornamentation, reflecting a philosophy that valued craftsmanship over mass production.
In addition to furniture, Stickley published a magazine called The Craftsman, which promoted the ideals of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
