Gurney's Eagle
Gurney's Eagle, also known as Gurney's Pygmy Eagle, is a small bird of prey found primarily in the forests of Southeast Asia. This species is characterized by its distinctive dark brown plumage, yellow eyes, and a short tail. Gurney's Eagle primarily feeds on small mammals, birds, and reptiles, using its sharp talons to catch prey.
This eagle is named after the British ornithologist John Gurney, who contributed to the study of birds in the region. Gurney's Eagle is considered vulnerable due to habitat loss and deforestation, making conservation efforts essential for its survival.
