Gumboro Disease
Gumboro Disease, also known as Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD), is a viral infection that primarily affects young chickens. It is caused by the Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV), which targets the bursa of Fabricius, an important organ for the immune system in birds. The disease can lead to immunosuppression, making affected birds more susceptible to other infections.
Symptoms of Gumboro Disease include depression, ruffled feathers, and diarrhea. In severe cases, it can result in high mortality rates among flocks. Vaccination is a common preventive measure to protect against this disease, helping to maintain the health of poultry populations.
