Greensburg Tornado
The Greensburg Tornado occurred on May 4, 2007, in the town of Greensburg, Kansas. It was rated as an EF5 tornado, the most severe classification, with winds exceeding 200 miles per hour. The tornado caused extensive damage, destroying approximately 95% of the town's structures and resulting in 11 fatalities.
In the aftermath, the community of Greensburg undertook a significant rebuilding effort.
