Greenland shark
The Greenland shark is a large species of shark found primarily in the cold waters of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. It can grow up to 24 feet long and is known for its slow growth rate, often living for over 400 years, making it one of the longest-living vertebrates on Earth.
These sharks have a unique diet that includes fish, squid, and even carrion. They are often found at great depths, typically between 1,200 and 1,500 feet, and are known for their dark, mottled skin, which helps them blend into their deep-sea environment.
