Green Sea Turtles
Green sea turtles are large marine reptiles known for their distinctive heart-shaped shells and strong flippers. They can weigh up to 400 pounds and are primarily herbivorous, feeding on seagrasses and algae. These turtles are found in warm coastal waters around the world, particularly in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean.
Green sea turtles are known for their long migrations, traveling thousands of miles between feeding and nesting sites. They typically nest on sandy beaches, where females lay around 100 eggs at a time. Unfortunately, they face threats from habitat loss, pollution, and hunting, leading to their classification as an endangered species.
