Great Spotted Woodpecker
The Great Spotted Woodpecker is a medium-sized bird found across Europe and parts of Asia. It has a distinctive black and white plumage, with a red patch on the back of its head in males. This woodpecker typically measures about 23 to 26 centimeters in length and has a wingspan of 34 to 39 centimeters.
These birds are known for their drumming sounds, which they create by pecking on trees to find insects or create nesting cavities. They primarily feed on insects, larvae, and seeds, and are often seen clinging to tree trunks and branches in forests and parks.
