Great Karoo
The Great Karoo is a vast semi-desert region located in central and western South Africa. It is characterized by its arid climate, unique landscapes, and diverse wildlife. The area is known for its wide-open spaces, dramatic mountain ranges, and distinctive vegetation, including succulents and bushes.
This region is divided into two main parts: the Upper Karoo and the Lower Karoo. The Great Karoo is also rich in fossils and has significant archaeological sites, making it important for understanding the history of both the environment and early human life in Africa.
